A man from Santa Rosa has been sentenced to 35 years to life in prison for sexually abusing his girlfriend’s son. Javier Navarro-Cruz pleaded no contest to several charges in mid-February. Prosecutors say the sexual abuse started in 2019, when the boy was ten-years-old. The boy told family members what happened in April of 2022, when he was 12. The abuse happened on at least three occasions.
