Napa County’s homeless population is down compared to last year. That’s according to the newly released numbers from a point-in-time survey taken on January 25th. On that day, 415 homeless people were counted in Napa County. That’s a decrease of 18 percent from last year. The count also found the number of people sleeping in emergency shelters went up by 34 percent from last year. And, the number of unsheltered homeless people in Napa County is down by 42 percent. But, there was an increase in the number of people who were homeless for the first time.
