The disparity of representation of the Latino population also extends into Sonoma County School Boards. The Press Democrat reports that 50-percent of students in Sonoma County are Latino. While some districts do have significant Latino representation, overall, only 15-percent of elected school officials in Sonoma County are Latino. For Napa County, 59-percent of their student population is Latino while 17-percent of elected school board seats are held by Latinos.
