Man Arrested for Threatening Santa Rosa Store Employees with Knife and Explosives

A man has been arrested for making threats against an employee of a Santa Rosa store and threatening to blow up that store. On Sunday morning, police were called to a store in Coddingtown Center regarding a report of a man who had called the business 29 times in about 30 minutes making threats to employees and the business over the phone. He then came into the store a short time later and brandished a knife at employees in a threatening manner. The suspect, 56-year-old Alejandro “Alex” Fuentes, left the store before police arrived but officers tracked him down to his apartment on Herbert Street. Fuentes refused to let officers in and, after a long standoff, finally surrendered after SWAT used tear gas and forcefully entered the apartment.
