Windsor’s waste hauler has spent more than 98-thousand-dollars supporting the “yes on Measure Q” campaign. The spending by Sonoma County Resource Recovery is current up until September 21st. Among the spending, 38-thousand-dollars has gone toward campaign literature, mailings and other consulting services. Nearly 12-thousand-dollars has been spent on legal and accounting services in support of Measure Q. The ballot initiative, if passed, would remove a mandatory ten-year limit on Windsor’s waste hauling contract. Town leaders would also have the option of doing away with competitive bidding on the deal, which expires in 2027, and on future garbage contracts.
