California will expand coronavirus vaccination eligibility to people with pre-existing conditions beginning Monday. Residents aged 16 and older with serious underlying conditions, physical, or mental disabilities will be able to make appointments. This includes those suffering from ailments like heart disease, cancer, severe obesity, and Down Syndrome. The state is urging clinics to “use their best judgement” when determining which conditions classify as most vulnerable and worthy of a vaccination. An estimated four-million-plus additional Californians will become eligible for the vaccine Monday.
