More monetary support is coming to the North Bay for vaccines.
Both Sonoma and Marin Counties will receive an additional $400,000 from the state to support increased COVID-19 vaccines that will be delivered to the North Bay in the coming weeks. This came after Assemblyman Marc Levine met with Blue Shield CEO Paul Markovich. Blue Shield is the sole distributor of vaccines for the state of California.
The announcement comes as all Californians age 50 and older will be eligible for the coronavirus vaccine, beginning today. That means 60-thousand more Sonoma County residents are eligible for a shot, while vaccines deliveries to the county continue to be less than 12,000 doses per week.
