Vaccinating children ages five to eleven starts this week in Sonoma County. Officials say they are expecting to vaccinate around 37-thousand children in that age range. Vaccination clinics are being set up at schools for those who don’t have convenient or affordable healthcare options. Sonoma County follows Contra Costa, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Marin and San Mateo counties in the vaccine rollout for kids. Alameda and Solano counties plan to administer the vaccine to children later this month.
Casey D’Angelo, the vaccine coordinator for the Sonoma County Office of Education, spoke with KSRO’s Michelle Marques regarding the release of the vaccine and pop up clinics. More information on the Covid vaccine for children, please click here.
