Another day, another new redistricting map for Sonoma County. The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors are backing a new county district map after the latest redistricting workshop on Monday. The new map, however, splits Santa Rosa apart along the Highway 101 corridor, moving much of northwest Santa Rosa, including Santa Rosa Junior College and Railroad Square, into the 5th District with the remainder staying in the 3rd District. Meanwhile, Rohnert Park would be split between the 3rd District and the 2nd instead of being included in the 5th District as previously proposed. A final vote and public comment on the proposed map is scheduled for December 7th.

3rd District Supervisor Chris Coursey spoke with KSRO’s Michelle Marques about the latest district maps being discussed.
