The Windsor Unified School District is responding to complaints about kids getting drenched with rain during lunch period on Monday. Parents of Mattie Washburn Elementary said that the Covid protocols set up by the district for lunch time had gotten their kids wet. Students ate outside and, while tents provided shelter while they ate, some parents claimed that the tents weren’t sufficient and that there was a lack of shelter for the children while walking around campus. The district has stated that they are working to fix the rainy day plan and that, for the rest of the week, the school plans to cover the sides of the tents and is aiming to have students eat lunch indoors during heavy rains.
