The Santa Rosa Police Department has added a new squad car unlike any other to its fleet. It’s a low rider. The transformed Ford Crown Victoria was unveiled Saturday, in memory of fallen officer Marylou Armer. In 2020, the Santa Rosa police officer became the first police officer in California to die from coronavirus complications. A mural depicting Armer is painted on the hood of the lowrider, named The Marylou. The car was presented at a ceremony in front of City Hall featuring music, dancers, and speakers from the Sonoma County Lowrider Council. The Office of Community Engagement footed the $17-thousand bill for the transformation.
