Petaluma’s popular Fourth of July fireworks display is making a comeback this year after being replaced by a laser light show last year. The fireworks will be launched from the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds at a high elevation so that Petalumans can see the show from their own neighborhoods. The Fairgrounds will not be open to spectators. City officials emphasize that the use of personal fireworks, including those labeled as “safe and sane,” remains prohibited within the city limits.
