
KSRO is sad to report the passing of Steve Reuter, our longtime colleague and friend. Steve passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on May 30th.
He was born in 1954 in Jacksonville, Illinois and would grow up in Arizona. Reuter graduated from the University of Arizona in 1976 on a athletic scholarship. He moved to Santa Rosa and became a stock broker, eventually joining Merrill Lynch in 1996 and in 2001, was named Resident Director, managing the Santa Rosa Office.
Steve Reuter joined the KSRO news team in 1987 and would provide daily stock market reports for our team until early 2024. He always presented a calm demeanor while reporting financial news, providing the latest up-to-date market information and trends.
Steve was also involved in other ventures as he was active in the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa, the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Keegan Leadership Series and the Elsie Allen High School Foundation. He was an avid outdoors man enjoying backpacking, camping, hiking, hunting and fishing. Reuter also became a golfer later in life and was a member at Fountaingrove Club for many years.
Steve is survived by his wife, Lee Ann, his two sons, John Wesley (Tracy) and Christopher Stephen, three grandchildren, Jack, Lilly and Sam, his mother, Jan and three sisters, Becky Restrepo, Kim Foulger and Susan Wilkerson.
A celebration of Reuter’s life will be held on June 23rd at 11 AM at Paradise Ridge Winery, 4545 Thomas Lake Harris Drive, Santa Rosa. Memorial Donations in Steve’s memory may be made to: Cardinal Newman High School Fund A Future Tuition Assistance, Rotary Club of Santa Rosa Foundation, or Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Foundation.
