A proposed Bay Area-wide property tax increase will be on the November ballot in Sonoma County. County supervisors have voted to put the measure on the ballot. The tax revenue would be used to fund affordable housing construction. The measure could generate up to 20-billion-dollars, which would be used to build up to 119-thousand affordable homes in ten years. The measure will appear on the ballot in all nine Bay Area counties. Santa Rosa is one of the larger cities that would be eligible for direct funding, estimated at 242-million-dollars.
