
Sonoma County’s Public Health Department announced Monday afternoon that Sonoma County had 15 more positive coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 73. The number of active cases now stands at 59, with 13 recoveries and 1 death. There remains a near 50/50 split among positive tests, with 37 positive tests coming from males and 36 from females. According to statistics from the county, three new cases required hospitalization, bringing the total up to 16.
The jump comes on a day when San Francisco Mayor London Breed foreshadowed the extension of the current shelter in place order through the month of April. The details of San Francisco’s order are expected tomorrow, with the remaining Bay Area counties to follow.
Governor Gavin Newsom also announced today a plan to bring on up to 37,000 new health care workers, calling upon retired health care workers as well as students nearing completion of medical school.
