A grass fire in west Petaluma sparked concern yesterday afternoon, but was quickly contained by local firefighters.
The Petaluma Argus-Courier reports the blaze, which started near Windsor Drive and D Street, threatened the Scott Ranch housing development currently under construction. The fire department released an alert just after 2:30 p.m. and within 30 minutes, police confirmed the fire was contained.
No structures were damaged and no evacuations were necessary. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
