North Bay Preparing For Another Atmospheric River

Sonoma and Napa counties are preparing for a potential atmospheric river bringing rain, strong winds, flooding, and beach hazards later this week.

The National Weather Service says most of the heavy rain is expected Wednesday and Thursday, up to an inch valleys and two-to-three inches in coastal and interior mountains.

Wind gusts could reach 50 miles-per-hour, with higher bursts along coasts and mountain passes. Minor flooding is possible, and a slight chance of thunderstorms exists.

By Friday, waves up to 20 feet may create dangerous rip currents and sneaker waves, while temperatures drop into the 40s overnight.
