The Santa Rosa Police Department is holding a DUI Checkpoint tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location.
The primary goal is public safety by removing impaired drivers, which includes those under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, or certain medications. A first-time DUI charge can result in an average of $13,500 in fines and a suspended license.
The operation is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
