Prosecutors are seeking a 180-day jail term for Zoe Rosenberg, a Berkeley animal rights activist convicted in October of felony conspiracy.
The charge stems from a June 2023 entry at the Petaluma Poultry facility. The Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office cited Rosenberg’s “staggering” lack of remorse and said alternatives like house arrest or work release would be ineffective.
The recommended sentence is far below the maximum four-and-a-half-year term, and with standard custody credits, her actual time served would likely be shorter.
