Caltrans is hitting the brakes on expanded carpool hours for Highway 101 in Marin and Sonoma counties.
Per the Marin Independent-Journal, following a wave of complaints from frustrated North Bay drivers and local leaders, the agency has agreed to shorten HOV restrictions starting this February. Officials say the current 5-to-10 AM and 3-to-7 PM windows created “mind-boggling” new traffic jams.
Finalized hours will be announced in late January, aiming to restore a smoother commute for thousands of drivers.
