The Sonoma Valley Unified School District has officially found a home for the new MacArthur Park Charter School.
The Sonoma Index-Tribune reports in a 4-to-0 vote, trustees decided the charter will take over the Prestwood Elementary campus for the 2026-27 school year, following Prestwood’s scheduled closure this June.
The new school will focus on STEAM education and plans to build a community “Makerspace,” with organizers now racing to recruit staff and prepare the site for an August 17th opening.
