Healdsburg City Council Approves New Clean Energy Funds

Healdsburg is making a major play to put more electric vehicles and e-bikes in the hands of low-income residents.

According to the Press Democrat, on Monday, the City Council approved a new wave of rebates—including up to $1,000 for e-bikes and $5,000 for home EV chargers—specifically for households enrolled in the city’s CARE assistance program.

The city is tapping into an $800,000 windfall from state clean-energy funds to jumpstart these programs, which have seen low participation in the past. Beyond the rebates, the council is also moving forward with plans to build at least two new city-owned charging stations at Giorgi Park and the Community Center to make going green more practical for everyone.
