K-9 Helps Snag Suspect After Terrifying Mall Assault

A Rohnert Park man is behind bars after allegedly pointing a loaded “ghost gun” at a coworker’s face during a violent confrontation at the Santa Rosa Plaza.

The victim managed to flee the downtown business with minor injuries before calling 911 on the evening of March 15th.

Police later tracked 35-year-old Mitchell Lagleva to his home, where K-9 Ghost sniffed out a concealed, unserialized handgun hidden under the driver’s seat. A follow-up search of Lagleva’s residence turned up extra ammunition and a high-capacity magazine.

Lagleva now faces multiple felony charges, including assault with a firearm, and is being held at the Sonoma County Jail.
