Santa Rosa police have arrested the primary suspect in a shooting that occurred during Sunday’s Cinco de Mayo festivities.
Eighteen-year-old Sebastian Ramirez of Rohnert Park surrendered to a SWAT team Thursday evening and faces charges of attempted murder and gang participation.
The investigation began after a man was shot in the neck near Sebastopol Road, an incident that also saw a taco truck struck by gunfire near hundreds of bystanders. Ramirez is the second person detained in the case, following the arrest of a 19-year-old Ukiah man early Monday morning.
While the victim has been released from the hospital, detectives are still searching for the firearm used in the assault.
Anyone with information or security footage of the altercation is urged to contact the Santa Rosa Police Department.
