Heavy Winds Topple Century-Old Oak Tree Onto Glen Ellen Business

Fierce winds toppled a century-old oak tree in Glen Ellen Monday morning, sending it crashing into power lines, a business, and multiple cars.

The massive tree fell around 10:45 a.m. at Stage Interiors on Carquinez Avenue, causing significant roof damage and crushing three parked vehicles. Three employees were outside loading furniture at the exact moment the tree came down, but miraculously, no injuries were reported.

The Sonoma Valley Fire District stated that the incident was likely caused by the powerful gusts whipping across the North Bay.

Emergency crews remained on the scene to secure the area and clear the heavy debris.
