Former Sanitary District Employee Sues Over Alleged Bullying and Retaliation

A former Ross Valley Sanitary District employee from Rohnert Park has filed a lawsuit against the agency, alleging wrongful termination, harassment, and whistleblowing retaliation.

The Marin Independent Journal reports Darrell Proschold, a 13-year veteran of the district, claims he endured over a decade of severe workplace bullying, including physical assaults and ignored reports of grave safety violations.

The lawsuit states Proschold was fired late last year while on medical leave for severe back and knee injuries sustained on the job. District General Manager Steve Moore has rejected the allegations, calling the claims baseless and stating that Proschold was terminated for cause.

The plaintiff is seeking reinstatement, back pay, and unspecified damages in a case scheduled for an October court conference.
