Transient Arrested After Failed Santa Rosa Bank Robbery

A bank robbery attempt in Santa Rosa yesterday afternoon ended in a swift arrest, thanks to high-tech cameras and quick police work.

Officers rushed to the Bank of America on West Steele Lane after a man handed the teller a threatening demand note and a bag. The suspect fled the scene on foot empty-handed, leaving both his note and the bag behind at the counter.

A local FLOCK camera captured the suspect’s escape route, allowing a motorcycle officer to quickly track him down nearby.

Thirty-eight-year-old local transient Angosom Gebre was positively identified and booked into jail for attempted robbery and a parole violation.
