Sonoma County Director of Emergency Management Stepping Down

Sonoma County’s top emergency management official, Chris Godley, is stepping down. As the Director of Emergency Management for more than four years, Godley led the county’s response to wildfires, floods, droughts, and the pandemic. Sonoma County has had more than a dozen local emergencies during his tenure. The 58-year-old’s last day on the job is March 26th. Sonoma County hasn’t started its search for a permanent replacement yet. But, county officials say the next director of emergency management needs to be someone with experience engaging in community and language access.
