Leaders of the California legislature have reached an agreement on the 2023-24 fiscal year budget. The Senate and Assembly are in two-party agreement on a new spending plan. They will vote on the bill Thursday before presenting the budget proposal to the governor for final three-party approval. In a joint statement, Assembly speaker Anthony Rendon and Senate leader Toni Atkins say once all three parties agree, amendments to this budget bill will be introduced to reflect such an agreement. They call it a “balanced and responsible budget…that protects our progress for California.”
