Firefighters managed to control a Petaluma house fire in 15 minutes. On Saturday evening, smoke was reported coming from a door of a home on the 900 block of Wood Sorrel Drive. The house was evacuated and firefighters were called to the scene. Firefighters quickly had it under control, thanks in part to a resident making sure the door to the garage was closed when they left. Nobody was hurt. The house, though, was declared uninhabitable due to the damage. The cause is under investigation.
