Ben and his business partner Ari Heavner founded the winery together about 15 years ago with just 50 cases and have increased production since then but still have a playful, boutique approach to winemaking. Ben shares the stories behind the wines, his first foray into winemaking at Deerfield Ranch Winery, and how they came up with the name Idle Cellars, inspired by the tune Idle Moments by Grant Green.
