Community Conversations on Race – Youth Voices and the Equity Pledge

capconversationsonrace-2

Host Michelle Marques talks with Kelsei Jimenez and Bailey Herbert, two Sonoma County high school students who have joined a group called Youth Voices. The group has committed to something called an Equity Pledge, to not only help marginalized students experience equity in the education system, but to extend that pledge and cause out to our local businesses, institutions, organizations, and the community at large, including leaders at all levels. This effort to recognize and call out inequities, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and other actions that marginalize minority groups, starts with the individual, and includes goals to expand out to the rest of the community.

Find out more and how you can sign the pledge at sonomaequity.org.
