The Historic Inglenook Winery and Donkey and Goat Natural Wines

This is the full show from January 20th. You know, one of the things I respect most about the wine industry is it’s rich history. Today, we’re going to touch up on that with both of my guests. We’ll hear the story of Inglenook Winery, one of the first estate wineries in Napa Valley. It had a nearly 100 year successful run before being sold to a large winery group. After losing its esteemed reputation during those late 1960s and early 1970s Francis Ford Coppolla purchased a portion of the property. Over the years he has brought the property and winery back to the iconic status it deserves.

Also in this show you’ll learn about natural wines and Pétillant Naturel, or Pét-Nat for short. It’s a single fermentation method of making sparkling wine, which predates the champagne style, that is being offer at Donkey & Goat winery in Berkeley. Winemaker Jared Brandt talks about their natural method of winemaking.
