With the time change coming this weekend, it’s also time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms. Dr. Gary Smith of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital says children are sound sleepers who respond better to familiar sounds.
A study in the Journal of Pediatrics found that the tone wakes kids up about half of the time, while mom shouting their names and instructions did the job 90-percent of the time.
