Over 200 victims of the ongoing Dixie Fire are suing PG&E for wildfire liabilities. Attorneys filed a pair of lawsuits and stated in part that the utility failed to foresee fire threats and “failed to maintain and operate the electrical equipment in its utility infrastructure.” Cal fire has yet to determine the cause to the 960-thousand acre fire but PG&E has stated that an employee spotted a tree leaning against a conductor on a utility pole on the day the fire started, July 13th. The Dixie fire has destroyed over 1,300 homes and other buildings.
