Eleven-Percent of California’s Homeless Work in Fast Food

More than 171-thousand people in California are now homeless. And 11-percent of them are fast-food workers, with half in Los Angeles County. A report by Economic Roundtable cites low pay and part-time hours. The nonprofit looked at data from restaurant chains including McDonald’s, Starbucks, Burger King, KFC and Taco Bell. It says raising wages is “the single most important step for reducing economic homelessness in the state.”
