It was a packed house at Larson Park this past Sunday as hundreds of neighbors gathered to celebrate the official reopening of this Sonoma Valley staple.
The Sonoma Index-Tribune reports after a year-long, $4 million makeover, the park is back and better than ever with brand-new playgrounds, accessible restrooms, and updated sports courts for everything from soccer to pickleball. Local leaders, including Board Chair Rebecca Hermosillo, joined the festivities to thank the community for their patience during the construction.
Longtime residents say the park finally feels family-friendly again, providing a much-needed space for the often-overlooked Springs neighborhood. The afternoon was a true community block party, featuring food trucks, music, and local organizations welcoming families back to their favorite hangout.
It’s a full-circle moment for many who grew up playing here and are now bringing their own kids to make new memories.
