Sonoma Man Arrested For Vandalizing Mother’s Home And Assaulting Officers

A Sonoma man is in jail after authorities say he destroyed parts of his mother’s home with a meat cleaver and then assaulted sheriff’s deputies.

According to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Brendan Tierney was arrested Wednesday evening. The Sonoma Index-Tribune reports he allegedly caused over $1,000 in damage to his mother’s home on Newcomb Street.

During the arrest, he’s accused of kicking and spitting on deputies, and making death threats. Tierney faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including battery on a peace officer and felony vandalism.

His bail was set at $31,000.
