The North Bay community is preparing to honor Rick LaFranchi, a champion baseball coach and entrepreneur who passed away at age 74.
According to the Petaluma Argus-Courier, a memorial service is scheduled for this Thursday, April 30, at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Petaluma.
A Nicasio native, LaFranchi led Archie Williams High School to the NCS championships before finding success off the field as a co-founder of Silver Screen Videos and the Nicasio Valley Cheese Company. Friends and former players remember him as a dedicated mentor who remained deeply rooted in the local dairy ranching tradition.
The service will begin at 11 a.m. to celebrate a legacy that spanned from the dugout to the family farm.
