A beloved fixture for animal lovers has officially closed its doors as Mini Cat Town wraps up three years at the Santa Rosa Plaza.
According to the Press Democrat, the nonprofit cat adoption center shuttered its ground-floor space last month after successfully finding “forever homes” for over 300 local kittens.
While the rescue group is shifting focus to its four remaining Bay Area locations, the mall is preparing for a shuffle of its own. National retailer Shoe Palace is set to vacate its temporary downstairs spot to move into a larger, remodeled storefront on the second floor.
Mall owners have not yet announced what will replace the kittens, but the new shoe store is slated to open this summer.
