One of our favorite places to visit close to home is VJB Cellars in Kenwood. Owned by an Italian american family they craft a good list of Italian Varietals. They’ve come along way to be where they are today. Vittorio and his wife Maria along with their son and winemaker Henry fulfilled their desire to experience the American dream.
Four years ago I interviewed Sondra Bernstein of the highly popular Girl and the fig restaurant, the fig cafe, her Suite D pop-up party location and the Fig Rig. We met up again recently so she could share their plans of celebrating International Rose Day. Although that date has passed, I decided to include the interview in this podcast because it is a fascinating story how this local world-renowned restaurant started from humble beginnings.
