Host Michelle Marques talks with Angie Dillon-Shore, Executive Director of First 5 Sonoma County about Pathway to Income Equity. Guaranteed income programs have slowly started to spread across the state, and early results show that these programs have a long lasting impact, helping low income families rise out of the spiral of poverty. In Sonoma County, First 5 Sonoma County is now sending out $500 monthly payments to about 300 qualified families in a pilot program called Pathway to Income Equity. Our local program is specifically targeting pregnant individuals and families with children under six with a hope to make the most impact on young families. Learn more at sonomapie.org
