A 17-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after going into cardiac arrest at Sonoma Valley High School. The boy collapsed while playing basketball on Wednesday night. Sonoma Fire Chief Steve Akre says the boy’s friends saved his life. One immediately started CPR, another called 911, and the other sprinted across campus to grab an AED machine, which they used to restart his heart. First responders restored a pulse, then the boy was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
