Sonoma County will hold its first monkeypox vaccination clinic today. There will be clinics today and Friday, at the Lazy Bear Week event in Guerneville. The county is allotting 500 doses of the vaccine to the two clinics. That’s more than half of the 800 doses Sonoma County has received so far from the California Department of Public Health.

Meanwhile, California is acquiring more monkeypox vaccines. Nearly 786 people in the state have contracted the virus with 11 needing hospital treatment, but no deaths have been recorded. The California Department of Public Health says the state has received 37-thousand doses of vaccine, with another 72-thousand shots on the way. Additional supplies have been ordered for the Los Angeles area.
