Michael Anthony Jones (Mendocino County Sheriff)

A man who prompted a shelter in-place alert in Mendocino County is still on the loose. Authorities say 33-year-old Michael Anthony Jones fired a gun near Fort Bragg several times Saturday night and Sunday morning. He allegedly shot at a 62-year-old man on Saturday night, but missed and left. Police say Jones returned to the man the next morning and shot him in the leg. The victim is expected to survive. Investigators say the two men were arguing about stolen property. The shelter-in-place alert was issued at about 11:15 a.m. and was cancelled less than two hours later.
