Host Clark Wolf talks with Rene Byck and Sonia Byck-Barwick, siblings and co-owners of Paradise Ridge Winery in Santa Rosa. This beautiful spot with award winning wines, is also deeply connected to the history of Sonoma County, and has recently expanded their food offerings. The winery burned down during the 2017 Tubbs Fire, and immediately patriarch Dr. Walter Byck knew they would rebuild. The wine center was the first to reopen on the expansive property and welcomes visitors for the Wine & Sunset Series each year, as well as an idyllic spot for weddings and other events. There are also multiple sculptures dotted around the property, which are free to visit. The LOVE statue become a symbol of resilience for our community as we rebuilt after the firestorms of 2017. Sonia shares her work with Social Advocates for Youth, and their commitment to helping at risk youth. Clark and Sonia talk about the inspirational work of Evelyn Cheatham and Worth Our Weight.
Paradise Ridge Winery now offers many delicious food options. Jessica Wilson, Hospitality Coordinator at Paradise Ridge says they have sandwiches for lunch, charcuterie and cheese boards, and food trucks during special events. (There are also indulgent snacks like truffle chips and caviar!) Don't miss the final Wine & Sunset concert of this season on Wednesday, October 25th.
